Chevy priced the cheap EV. The 2027 Bolt LT is $28,995 including $1,395 destination. That is the number GM printed. GM’s October 9, 2025 introduction is the source. Final specs landed January 12. EPA-estimated 262 miles. 65-kWh LFP pack. 150 kW+ DC. Native NACS. Built at Fairfax Assembly in Kansas City, Kansas. April 22 said it was on dealer lots. It still is.

Same 65 kWh, 15 more miles
The pack is still 65 kilowatt-hours. The chemistry is not. Lithium iron phosphate in prismatic cells. A March GM News piece called it the company’s first LFP application in North America. Chevrolet tells you to charge it to 100 percent. Most EVs do not.
The motor is the X76 from the Equinox EV. 210 horsepower. 169 lb-ft. Front-wheel drive only. Chief engineer Jeremy Short told GM News the extra 15 miles came from that hardware, not a bigger battery. Official figures from the January spec sheet:
- EPA-estimated 262 miles on the LT and the RS
- 150 kW DC, 10 to 80 percent in 25 minutes
- 11.5 kW AC, about 40 miles of range per hour on a 60-amp home unit
- 3,776 pounds
- 16.2 cubic feet behind the rear seat, 56.3 with it folded
The old Bolt peaked around 55 kW. This one is more than 2.5 times that, on paper. First Chevrolet with a native NACS port. Superchargers without an adapter. Vehicle-to-home is listed if you buy the GM Energy kit.

$28,995, or the RS tax
GM’s MSRP includes destination. chevrolet.com currently lists the LT at $27,600 before the $1,395 freight charge. Same car. The RS is $31,600 on that page. Unique grille, RS badge, gloss black 17s, black Evotex with red stitching, multicolor ambient lighting. Super Cruise is extra. The April release put a Super Cruise Bolt at $35,655 and called it the cheapest hands-free car in America.
Two screens. 11.3-inch center, 11-inch cluster. Google built-in. Short said they are the same displays GM puts in its mid-size trucks. Physical climate knobs under the glass. Column shifter. Open console. A heat pump is standard. Adaptive Cruise is standard. More than 20 driver-assistance features on the sheet.

Scott Bell, vice president of Global Chevrolet, said it was coming back for a limited time. chevrolet.com’s FAQ still says limited time. The shape is the old Bolt EUV with new fascias and lights. Phil Zak’s team did not hide that. Seven colors. Atomic Yellow is RS-only. Relic Green is LT-only. Habanero Orange is the one in the photos.

It is a 169.6-inch hatch on a 105.3-inch wheelbase, assembled in Kansas, sold as America’s most affordable EV. 262 miles. NACS in the fender. $28,995 with destination. GM killed it once. It brought the same silhouette back, swapped in LFP and an Equinox motor, and told Bolt people not to miss it.
