Slate put a number on the truck. $24,950 before destination. 205 miles, Slate’s own estimate, not EPA. The June 24, 2026 release is the source. Two seats if you take the Blank Slate. Five if you order a Squareback or Fastback. First deliveries are supposed to land in Q4 2026 from Warsaw, Indiana.
$24,950, plus everything they did not print
The Blank Slate is the two-seat pickup. Slate sells it direct. No dealers. The $24,950 excludes taxes, title, license, registration, destination, documentation, and options. Destination is still unlisted. The truck is in preproduction. Specs can move.
Squareback and Fastback SUVs start at $29,950. Same disclaimer. You can order it as a pickup or an SUV, or convert it after you buy it. Slate did not publish a conversion price.
Preorder is $300 on slate.auto. Existing $50 reservation holders pay $250 more. Slate says more than 180,000 people reserved one.

Two seats. Or five, if you buy the box.
The Blank Slate is a regular-cab pickup. 174.6 inches long. 108.9-inch wheelbase. Bed is 60.5 inches, 80.7 with the tailgate down. 43.9 inches between the wheel wells. Frunk is 7.0 cubic feet. Bed is 35.1. Payload 1,550 pounds. Towing 2,000. Those are Slate estimates. The truck is still preproduction.
The Squareback adds a rear bench for three, rollbars, and airbags. The Fastback does the same with a sleeker roof. Open Air is on the website too: same bench, no roof. Slate’s spec sheet lists SUV interior volume at 80.5 cubic feet, 34.0 behind the seats, 58.4 folded. SUV payload 1,263. Towing 1,824. Curb weight 4,335 pounds against 4,048 for the pickup.
slate.auto says the body can change after you own it. The June release says the same. That is the kit story. The invoice for the kit is not in the release.
65 kWh, 205 miles, 120 kW. All Slate numbers.
One motor. Rear-wheel drive. LFP pack. 65 kWh total, 63 usable. 135 kW and 264 Nm. Slate estimates 0–60 in 8.0 seconds and a 90-mph top speed. Range is 205 miles on the Blank Slate Truck, up 37 percent from the earlier claim. The footnote is doing work: “approximation of the EPA test cycle,” “not an official EPA estimated range value.”
Charging is NACS. 11 kW onboard. Slate’s estimates:
- Level 1, 1.9 kW, 20–80%: 17 hours
- Level 2, 11 kW, 20–100%: 4 hours
- DC, 120 kW, 20–80%: 30 minutes
slate.auto says a wall outlet, a dryer plug, and Tesla Superchargers are included. The spec sheet does not give a Supercharger count. The homepage currently says 30,500.
No touchscreen. Tactile controls. The official interior shot is a phone on a mount and three knobs. 17-inch steel wheels. 245/65R17. MacPherson strut front, De Dion rear. Turning circle 37 feet. Ground clearance 7.8 inches on the pickup, 7.6 on the SUV.
Warsaw, not a showroom
Slate was founded in 2022. The trucks are supposed to be assembled in Warsaw, Indiana. Nearly $400 million into the plant. 2,000-plus jobs, Slate’s number. A 10-year/110,000-mile battery and powertrain warranty. 3,000-plus RepairPal shops, including more than 100 that can do high-voltage work.
The Marketplace is the other product. Over 200 accessories, 80 percent under $500. Over 100 wrap colors. Full wraps under $500. Slate’s copy. The truck ships wrapped, not painted.
Ford named Fathom, priced it at $28,350, and hid the sheetmetal. Slate did the opposite. You can stare at the truck. You can preorder it for $300. You still wait until Q4 for a preproduction EV that claims 205 miles and $24,950 before destination. The range is a target. The price is not out-the-door. Warsaw has to build it first.
