PLEASANTON, Calif., June 1, 2026 — Toyota Motor North America today showed the 2027 GR86 and left the sticker blank. The company declared a 2.4-liter four-cylinder boxer of 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet. Both grades print a six-speed manual. Both grades print an automatic. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Pricing and specs will be shared later this year, Toyota said. Dealerships get the cars in summer 2026. The official notice is here.

Two Grades. A Clutch on Both.
The factory printed two grades: GR86 and GR86 Premium. Each grade is sold with a six-speed manual or an automatic. The clutch is the lighter car. Toyota listed the base manual at 2,811 pounds. The automatic is 2,851. There is no United States sticker yet. The 2026 GR Corolla already got one. This coupe did not.

228 Horsepower. 2,811 Pounds.
The naturally aspirated 2.4-liter boxer makes 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet. Peak torque arrives at 3,700 rpm, the company said. Zero to 60 is 6.1 seconds with the six-speed manual. It is 6.6 seconds with the six-speed ECT-i automatic. A Torsen limited-slip rear differential is fitted to both transmissions. An aluminum hood, front fenders, and roof panel keep the mass down.

Thunder, Cockpit Red, and the Brembos
There is a new exterior color for 2027. Toyota named it Thunder. Premium grades gain a Cockpit Red interior. A Performance Package is offered on both grades. It carries Brembo four-piston front and two-piston rear calipers. Front rotors measure 12.8 by 1.3 inches. Rear rotors measure 12.4 by .79 inches. SACHS dampers come in the same box.

A Chamfer and a Race Club
Engineers widened the shifter interlock chamfer between fourth and fifth by about 0.02 inches. Throttle calibration was refined. Toyota offers a complimentary one-year membership in the National Auto Sport Association. In 2023, Toyota GAZOO Racing North America developed the GR Cup championship around race-modified GR86s, the company said.
