Volkswagen priced the 2026 Jetta GLI at $33,745. That is the starting MSRP for the Autobahn trim on VW’s official 2026 Jetta / Jetta GLI press kit. Destination is $1,275. Tax, title, and license are extra. The factory book lists a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG® dual-clutch at the same MSRP.
Six-speed manual. Same price as the DSG.
This is the clutch graf, and VW printed it clearly. Power goes to the front wheels through a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic. For model year 2026, both gearboxes start at the same $33,745 Autobahn sticker. The official kit also notes a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob on manual cars, an aluminum shift knob on DSG cars, and paddle shifters when you order the dual-clutch. Three pedals are not a surcharge here. They are the equal-price path.

The GLI keeps Volkswagen’s EA888 2.0-liter turbocharged and direct-injection TSI four. The press kit prints 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, with variable valve timing on intake and exhaust plus variable exhaust valve lift. EPA estimates from the same book: 26 city / 36 highway / 29 combined on the six-speed manual, and 26 / 35 / 29 on the seven-speed DSG. Regular unleaded. That is the official fuel story, not a third-party guess.
VAQ differential. Autobahn-only GLI.
For 2026 the GLI stays a single Autobahn trim. VW’s kit calls out the VAQ electronically controlled front limited-slip differential—shared with other Volkswagen performance models—plus sport suspension hardware and the GLI face with black honeycomb grilles and the red accent strip. Dimensions in the kit put the GLI at 186.9 inches long, 70.8 inches wide, 57.3 inches tall, on a 105.6-inch wheelbase, with a Cd of 0.31. SEL and GLI Autobahn also pick up a premium eight-speaker VW audio system for this model year, and the GLI adds push buttons on the steering wheel.
The clutch starts at the base price.
