Honda Is Pausing the Civic Si After 2026 — and Its Exclusive $31,495 Clutch

Honda is pausing production of the current Civic Si at the end of the 2026 model year. That is the official line from American Honda’s July 23, 2026 Honda News release: dealer inventory should stretch into early 2027, and an all-new Si is promised back in the coming years. The car on the floor right now still starts at $31,495 with an exclusive six-speed manual — the same clutch Honda’s September pricing table lists as the only gearbox.

Exclusive six-speed. No automatic on the book.

This is the clutch graf, and Honda did not leave an out on the current Si. The official September 9, 2026 Civic Si pricing and EPA table prints one row: 1.5L Turbo / 6MT, MSRP $31,495, TSRP $32,790 with the $1,295 destination charge. Honda’s own Civic Si vehicle page highlights a “6-Speed Manual Transmission” as a core feature and tells buyers to “let out the clutch.” The earlier Civic Si feature kit said the turbocharged Si “is the only car in its class available exclusively with a manual transmission.” When production pauses after 2026, that exclusive three-pedal row pauses with it until the next Si returns.

Fourth pause since 1986. Inventory into early 2027.

Honda’s pause release is blunt about timing and history. Production of the current Civic Si stops at the conclusion of the 2026 model year “due to evolving business conditions.” Based on current forecasts, American Honda expects dealer inventory of the performance sedan to remain available into early 2027. This is the fourth time Honda has paused Civic Si production since the badge arrived for 1986 — prior gaps include 1988, 1996–1998, and most recently 2021. Lance Woelfer, vice president of Auto Sales at American Honda, said the Si has set the standard for affordable performance for four decades and that “the all-new next-generation Civic Si will carry that tradition forward for enthusiast drivers when it returns to the Honda lineup.”

What the current Si still prints

Until the last 2026 cars clear, the official numbers do not change. Honda’s consumer page and the September pricing release keep the starting MSRP at $31,495. The 1.5-liter turbo is rated at 200 horsepower. EPA mileage on the pricing table is 27 city / 37 highway / 31 combined. The vehicle page pairs the turbo with the six-speed manual, a helical limited-slip differential, sport-tuned suspension, and 18-inch matte-black alloys. Colors on the current page include Crystal Black Pearl, Rallye Red, Platinum White Pearl, and Urban Gray Pearl.

So the story is not a new sticker — Autogonzo already covered the $31,495 2026 Si pricing. The story is the pause. Honda is stopping the current Si after 2026, dealers should still have cars into early 2027, and the exclusive clutch goes on hold with the badge until the next Si shows up. Four decades of Si. Fourth production pause. $31,495 and six speeds while they last.
