Tesla Will Draw Five Cybercab Guests on August 25 and Still Will Not Date the Roadster

Tesla will draw five names on August 25 for a Cybercab launch in Austin. The next Roadster still has no night. tesla.com/roadster still prints 1.9 seconds, over 250 mph, 620 miles, and a $50,000 reservation. Tesla did not print a combined Roadster-and-Robotaxi event. It printed a sweepstakes.

Five guests. Austin. Tesla still will not print the night.

Tesla’s Cybercab Launch Event Sweepstakes page: “We’re celebrating the launch of our Cybercab robotaxi with an exclusive event in Austin—and you could be there.” Take a Robotaxi ride August 17–23, 2026, and you are in. Every completed ride is another entry. Five winners, selected at random and notified August 25, 2026. Tesla values the prize items at $25. Taxes and expenses are the winner’s. Tesla did not print a plane ticket.

No Robotaxi fare required. Tesla printed a mail-in: a 3-by-5 card with full name, mailing address, telephone, email, and date of birth, sent to Tesla, Robotaxi Sweeps Event, 1 Tesla Road, Austin, TX 78725. One entry per stamped envelope.

Tesla printed the draw. Tesla did not print the date of the night. Do not invent one.

tesla.com/roadster is still 2017

The reservation page is the next-gen Roadster Tesla unveiled on November 16, 2017. The numbers Tesla still prints there:

  • 0–60 mph: 1.9 seconds
  • 0–100 mph: 4.2 seconds
  • Quarter mile: 8.8 seconds
  • Top speed: over 250 mph
  • Wheel torque: 10,000 Nm
  • Range: 620 miles
  • Seats: 4. Drive: all-wheel
  • Base reservation: $50,000

Reserve Now. Get Updates. The 2017 unveil video is still on the page. There is no 2026 event date on it. Tesla did not print a production year. Tesla did not print a sticker for the car. $50,000 is the deposit Tesla still asks for. That is not a price.

The table still says design development

Tesla’s Q2 2026 update, Exhibit 99.1 for the July 22 webcast, put Cybercab in production at Gigafactory Texas. Installed annual capacity above 125,000. Tesla’s own footnote: installed capacity is not the current rate. Employee Cybercab rides on the Texas campus started in July. Public-road engineering tests of production cars started in the quarter. Tesla called both “important precursors to Cybercab deployment in our Robotaxi fleets.” Precursors. Not a public fare on tesla.com/robotaxi.

The same capacity table still lists the Roadster as TBD, design development. The Model Y Robotaxi service is already live. That is a different post. This one is the night Tesla will raffle and the sports car it will not date.
