Mazda priced the 2026 MX-5 Miata RF Grand Touring 6MT at $38,750. Destination is $1,315. That is $40,065 before tax. The Skyactiv-G 2.0-liter makes 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 151 lb-ft at 4,000. Redline is 7,500. Autogonzo already covered the soft-top 2026 MX-5 Sport at $30,430. This is the retractable-fastback sibling from the same official book.
RF keeps the clutch in the factory book.
Mazda’s September 15, 2026 pricing update raised every 2026 MX-5 and MX-5 RF MSRP by $300. On MazdaUSA’s current RF page, the RF Grand Touring with the six-speed manual starts at $38,750. RF Club starts at $42,200. Destination stays $1,315 ($1,360 in Alaska). The January 27 pricing release and the 2026 MX-5 newsroom vehicle page still print the same transmission story Mazda has been running all year.
A standard six-speed manual remains at the heart of the MX-5 driving experience. Soft-top Sport and Club are 6MT only. On the RF side, Club is 6MT only — and the Brembo/BBS/Recaro package is standard equipment on RF Club. RF Grand Touring offers the 6MT or an available six-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Grand Touring with the manual gets the Club performance hardware: Bilstein dampers, front shock tower brace, induction sound enhancer, DSC-Track, and an asymmetric limited-slip differential. That hardware is not the automatic Grand Touring’s story.
Hardtop numbers, same 181-hp mill.
Every 2026 MX-5 — soft top or RF — uses the Skyactiv-G 2.0-liter four: 181 hp at 7,000 rpm, 151 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm, 7,500-rpm redline. The RF’s hardtop opens or closes in about 13 seconds from a center-console switch. MazdaUSA lists RF curb weight at 2,467 pounds with the SKYACTIV-MT and 2,513 pounds with the automatic Grand Touring. Near 50/50 weight distribution stays in the book for both.
RF trim ladder from the current USA site and the September update on the January table: Grand Touring 6MT $38,750, Grand Touring 6AT $39,720, Club 6MT $42,200 with Brembo front brakes, dark gunmetal 17-inch BBS forged wheels, and heated Recaro sport seats included. Soft-top Sport remains the clutch bargain at $30,730 after the same $300 bump — but you already have that post. If you want the coupe-ish silhouette and still want three pedals, RF Grand Touring 6MT is the entry line.
Premium paints — Aero Gray, Snowflake White Pearl, Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray — still sticker $595 on the official sheet. Tan Nappa leather is a $300 Grand Touring option. None of that changes the clutch call: Mazda still prints a six-speed manual on the RF card, and Club RF will not sell you an automatic.
