Subaru will build 350 copies of the 2027 WRX GD25 and 300 copies of the 2027 BRZ ZC15. Every one of them has a clutch. Subaru showed both anniversary cars at Boxerfest 2026 in York, Pennsylvania, and its September 28 U.S. press release is clear on the part that matters here: the GD25 comes only with a 6-speed manual, and the ZC15 is paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual.

Three pedals only, on both cars
This is the clutch graf, and Subaru did not hedge. The WRX GD25 is “available only in World Rally Blue with a 6-speed manual transmission with an STI short shifter.” There is no SPT version. That matters because the 2026 WRX GT is sold only with the SPT automatic, so the fanciest-looking WRX of 2027 goes the other way. The BRZ ZC15 gets “a 2.4-liter, 228 horsepower SUBARU BOXER engine paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission powering the rear wheels,” plus an STI aluminum and leather short shifter with a ZC15 plaque next to it. Two limited cars, 650 total, zero automatics.

WRX GD25: 271 hp, 350 cars, one color
The name points back to the GD chassis code on the first WRX sold in the U.S., in 2002. Subaru paints every GD25 World Rally Blue and puts it on gold-painted 19-inch alloy wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires. Uprated Brembo brakes get gold calipers. Out back is a dry carbon fiber swan-neck wing from Subaru Tecnica International, the same part Subaru says it uses on Travis Pastrana’s ARA Championship-winning WRX ARA25L rally car. Under the hood there is a flexible strut tower bar, and the suspension gets stiffer springs and revised damping.

Power is the familiar 271-horsepower 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Inside, Recaro performance-design seats get black Ultrasuede inserts with red stitching, and the lever wears an STI shift knob. Subaru says the GD25 arrives in summer 2027.

BRZ ZC15: 228 hp, 300 cars, rear drive
The ZC15 marks 15 years since the first BRZ, chassis code ZC, arrived in the U.S. for 2012. It comes only in Ceramic White, a color exclusive to this car, with matte bronze wheels, Brembo brakes, and bronze decals near the side sills. Subaru calls the white-and-bronze look an homage to the 2020 BRZ tS. There is a black decklid spoiler and a flexible V-bar under the hood. The cabin uses black leather-appointed upholstery with Bordeaux red inserts that no other BRZ gets. Subaru says the ZC15 is available in early 2027.

What Subaru has not printed yet
There is no price for either car. Subaru says detailed specifications and pricing will be announced closer to market launch, and its release says reservations begin in 2026. For a baseline, the regular cars already keep the stick: we covered the 2026 WRX at $32,495 with a six-speed manual and the 2027 BRZ Limited at $36,140. If you want the BRZ’s Toyota twin, there is also the 2027 GR86 at $31,500. Specs and photos are from the Subaru U.S. Media Center.
