PLANO, Texas, July 14, 2026 — Toyota Motor North America today put a price on the 2027 Corolla Hatchback and promised bigger glass in the cabin. The company declared the SE starts at $24,780, excluding a Dealer Processing and Handling fee of $1,295. The XSE is listed at $27,875 on the same terms. The Company Lights the Dials
The SE now carries a 7-inch digital gauge cluster as standard equipment. A new SE Premium Package, the company said, pairs a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with a 10.5-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia system. The XSE gets that 12.3-inch cluster and 10.5-inch multimedia screen as standard kit.
This correspondent notes the base SE still starts with an 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen, six speakers, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on both grades. Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is standard as well.
White Wheels and a New Palette
Toyota Genuine accessory 18-inch gloss white alloy wheels are newly available. The press office added a footnote: those wheels require a separate purchase of 225/40R18 tires for the SE grade. Updated exterior colors join the book. Inked, Blueprint, and Blueprint with Black Roof expand the list. The full palette printed in the product sheet is Inferno, Inked, Ice Cap, Wind Chill Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Finish Line Red, and Blueprint, with two-tone black-roof combinations on Wind Chill Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Finish Line Red, and Blueprint.
What the Spec Sheet Printed
The hatch is assembled at the Tsutsumi Plant in Aichi, Japan, on the TNGA-C platform. Under the hood sits a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine with Dual VVT-i. Toyota lists 169 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 151 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm. A Dynamic Shift continuously variable transmission is standard, with a physical launch gear and paddle shifters for 10 pre-set ratios. Drive modes are NORMAL, ECO, and SPORT. Layout is front-wheel drive.
No Clutch in the Book
This correspondent searched the official July 14, 2026 Pressroom notice and the Product Information sheet for a three-pedal gearbox. Toyota printed one transmission: a Dynamic Shift continuously variable transmission, standard on SE and XSE, with a physical launch gear and paddle shifters for 10 pre-set ratios. The factory book does not list a manual option on the 2027 Corolla Hatchback.
The sport hatch that still prints a clutch is the 2026 GR Corolla. The factory priced the six-speed iMT at $39,920 and still offers an eight-speed DAT beside it. That dispatch is here.
Manufacturer-estimated fuel economy on the official product sheet: 32 mpg city, 41 highway, 35 combined for the SE; 30/38/33 for the XSE. Curb weight is given as 3,150 pounds. Fuel capacity is 13.2 gallons. Wheelbase is 103.9 inches. Overall length is 172.0 inches. Width is 70.5. Height is 57.1. EPA cargo volume is 17.8 cubic feet behind the second row, or 23.0 cubic feet with the tire-repair kit in place of the spare.
