BMW Priced the 2026 Z4 Final Edition at $77,500 and Kept the Clutch

BMW priced the 2026 Z4 Final Edition at $77,500. Destination and handling is $1,175. That number comes straight from BMW’s U.S. press release, and it carries the line every stick driver wants to see: customers choose between a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed Steptronic, and the price is the same either way.

The clutch is in the book, at no extra charge

This is the clutch graf, and BMW kept the third pedal. The official spec sheet lists two gearboxes side by side: 8-speed Steptronic and 6-speed manual. The manual runs a 4.11 first gear, a 0.85 sixth, and a shorter 3.46 final drive (the automatic uses 2.81). Pick the stick and you also get the chassis tuning BMW developed for the Edition Handschalter Package: extra auxiliary springs front and rear, a reinforced front anti-roll bar clamp, remapped rear damper control, reworked variable sport steering software, and unique logic for traction control and the M Sport differential. BMW says the manual car is 29 pounds lighter, 3,514 pounds against 3,543. It is a little slower on paper, 4.2 seconds to 60 versus 3.9 for the automatic. That is a trade most people reading this would take.

382 hp. 369 lb-ft. Rear-drive straight-six.

Underneath, it is a Z4 M40i. The 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-six makes 382 horsepower from 5,800 to 6,500 rpm and 369 pound-feet from 1,800 to 5,000 rpm. Top speed is 155 mph with either transmission. Every car rides on staggered wheels: 19-inch M Dual-Spoke Bicolor 800M wheels with 255/35 R19 tires up front and 20-inch wheels with 285/30 R20 tires out back, plus M Sport brakes with red calipers.

One spec, one color, then the roadster is done

BMW calls this the car that marks the end of Z4 production. It said it would build the Final Edition in very small numbers from February to April 2026 in a single configuration. The paint is BMW Individual Frozen Black metallic with a Moonlight Black soft top and the Shadowline Package. Inside, Vernasca leather and Alcantara M Sport seats get red contrast stitching, the seatbelts are M tricolor, and the sill plates read “Z4 FINAL EDITION.” The Driving Assistance Package, Premium Package with head-up display, and Harman Kardon sound are standard.

For context, bmwusa.com lists the regular 2026 Z4 M40i from $68,400, with the manual offered through the Handschalter Package. BMW first put a stick in the M40i for 2024, and the Final Edition sends the car off with it. It joins the BMW clutch cars we have already covered, including the 2027 M2 and the 2027 M3 CS Handschalter. If you want an open two-seater with three pedals, it also lines up against the 2025 Porsche 718 Boxster and the much cheaper 2026 Mazda MX-5 RF. Specs and photos are from BMW’s U.S. PressClub.
