Suzuki GB lists the 2026 Swift Mild Hybrid Motion with the 5-speed manual at £19,999 on the road, and the current £3,500 customer saving brings the advertised starting price down to £16,499. That is the cheapest Swift you can buy in Britain, and it is the one with the clutch pedal. The CVT version of the same Motion costs £21,249.

The manual is the default Swift
Suzuki GB’s spec sheet lists the Motion manual as a 5-speed manual with front-wheel drive, and its UK media kit says the gear ratios were optimised for the new K12E three-cylinder engine. Here the CVT is the extra-cost option, not the other way around. The manual costs £1,250 less than the CVT and is also the more efficient of the two, rated at 64.2 mpg and 99 g/km of CO2 on the WLTP combined cycle against 60.1 mpg and 106 g/km for the CVT. Suzuki’s own numbers give the CVT the edge in a straight line, with 0 to 62 mph in 11.9 seconds against 12.5 for the manual, but that is a small price for rowing your own gears. There is also a manual-only extra. Suzuki’s media kit says the optional ALLGRIP Auto four-wheel drive comes only on the Ultra with the manual gearbox, so the all-wheel-drive Swift also comes with a clutch.

What the Motion already includes
The entry Motion is not a stripped special. Suzuki lists adaptive cruise control, a rear-view camera with parking sensors, heated front seats, wireless smartphone link, traffic sign recognition, a blind spot monitor, keyless entry and start and a rear spoiler as standard. Stepping up to the Ultra adds polished 16-inch alloys, automatic air conditioning, rear heater outlets and electrically folding mirrors, and it opens up the ALLGRIP Auto option.

At under a tonne with 82 PS, the Swift is not a hot hatch. It is still a light, cheap hatchback that comes with a clutch as standard, and there are not many of those left.

So the Swift Motion manual is £19,999 on the road for a 949 kg hatchback, and Suzuki charges you more to take the clutch out.
