Toyota Raised the GR Yaris Aero Performance to £49,145 and Kept the Clutch

Toyota (GB)’s GR Yaris price list effective August 1, 2026 puts the GR Yaris Aero Performance at £49,145 on the road. When Toyota announced the grade on October 1, 2025, the on-the-road price was £48,995. That is a £150 rise. The regular GR Yaris is £46,195 on the road on the same sheet. Both lines on that list say the same thing in the transmission column: Manual.

The clutch: six speeds on both UK grades

The August 2026 UK price list has two grades, GR Yaris (model code YR3 4GC) and GR Yaris Aero Performance (YR3 4GK). Both are 3-door hatchbacks with the 1.6 petrol turbo, and both are listed as Manual. The sheet has no automatic line. Toyota’s Aero Performance launch release spelled it out: “All GR Yaris models now feature the six-speed intelligent manual transmission.” The Aero Performance costs £2,950 more than the regular car. Toyota (GB)’s January 2026 press pack lists the gearbox as a 6-speed iMT with ratios of 3.538, 2.238, 1.535, 1.162, 1.081 and 0.902. Toyota fitted a new dual-mass flywheel, retuned the clutch for hard launches and competition driving, and set the clutch pedal’s peak effort “relatively high” on purpose to give it sports-car feel. Power goes to all four wheels through GR-FOUR with Torsen limited-slip differentials front and rear.

What the extra money buys

Toyota’s October 2025 launch release lists six aero parts. There’s a bonnet cooling duct and grille shaped like the old GRMN Yaris bonnet, a front lip spoiler developed with racer Kazuya Oshima, and a big rear spoiler you can adjust by hand. There’s also a flat floor undercover inspired by Super Taikyu fuel tanks, ducts behind the front wheels to vent the wheel arches, and rear bumper ducts to cut drag. The grade also gets a racing-style vertical handbrake. Toyota said production numbers are “strictly limited.” The car is sold only through Toyota GR Centres, and deliveries were due from March 2026.

More changes are coming

On March 13, 2026, Toyota (GB) announced another round of updates for both the GR Yaris and the Aero Performance. They include a 360 mm steering wheel (5 mm smaller) with the buttons moved away from the driver’s hands, Bridgestone Potenza Race tyres, retuned dampers and power steering, and a driver monitor camera. Heated seats and a heated steering wheel come with the vertical handbrake option. Toyota said UK availability and pricing for that update would be announced later in 2026. The August sheet is the current UK price for now.

That’s £49,145 for a 276-bhp, three-cylinder rally homologation hatch with an adjustable wing and a six-speed manual, and the UK price list doesn’t offer it any other way. In the US, Toyota’s clutch hatch is the GR Corolla. Autogonzo covered its rise to $40,520 and the $64,360 GRMN Corolla.
