Honda priced the 2027 Civic Type R at $48,695. That is the starting MSRP on Honda News. Destination is $1,295, so TSRP lands at $49,990 before tax, title, premium paint, and dealer charges. EPA is 22 city / 28 highway / 24 combined. Dealers start getting the refreshed hatch this month.

Exclusive 6-speed. No dual-clutch escape hatch.
This is the clutch graf, and Honda kept only the clutch. Honda News says Civic Type R is “the only car in its class available exclusively with a manual transmission.” The factory book does not print a DCT option, a paddle box, or an automatic trim. One gearbox: the exclusive 6-speed manual with the improved Rev Match system for quicker engine response on downshifts. Same stick-only lane as the 2026 Integra Type S, a step past the standard-manual / optional-DCT split on the 2026 Elantra N, and the opposite of the dual-clutch-only 2026 Golf GTI.

315 hp. Sharper nose. Heated seats finally.
Honda’s U.S. release still puts 315 horsepower on the turbocharged K20C — the most powerful Honda production vehicle sold here — with the engine built at Anna in Ohio. For 2027 the front fascia gets a larger grille opening and a deeper splitter for cooling and downforce. +R mode damping is optimized for better contact feel. Brake-pedal feel is tightened with a yoke spring. Cabin kit now includes heated front seats, Ultrasuede on the instrument panel and upper front doors, Google built-in with Gemini, Alexa built-in, two USB-C ports, and an auto-dimming mirror. New color: Meteorite Gray Metallic. Championship White, Boost Blue Pearl, and Sonic Gray Pearl stay on the chart.

Thirty years of Type R. Ten in North America.
Honda frames 2027 as the 30th anniversary of Civic Type R globally and the 10th in North America. America’s best-selling hot hatch still shows up with three pedals and no alternate gearbox in the book — up $1,800 from the 2026 Civic Type R at $46,895.
