MINI priced the 2027 John Cooper Works 2 Door at $38,900. That is the starting MSRP on miniusa.com for the Cooper 2 Door JCW, and BMW Group PressClub USA’s July 2026 model-year update repeats the same base number for Signature trim. Destination and handling is $1,350. Tax, title, and license are extra. The official book pairs this FWD hot hatch with one gearbox only: a 7-speed Sport Dual-Clutch Automatic with paddle shifters.
No clutch in the book
This is the clutch graf, and MINI printed the opposite of a stick. The 2027 JCW 2 Door page lists a “7-speed Sport Dual-Clutch Automatic Transmission” and a JCW Sport Steering Wheel with paddle shifters. The Cooper 2 Door compare/specs FAQ answers the transmission question the same way: Cooper C and Cooper S get a 7-speed dual-clutch, and “the MINI JCW 2 Door receives the 7-Speed Sport Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission for optimal performance.” No three-pedal option. No six-speed manual in the North America book. If you want paddles and a turbo hatch without a clutch pedal, this is the Mini lane — same dual-clutch-only story as the 2026 Golf GTI and 2026 Golf R. For three pedals in a compact hot hatch, look at the 2026 Civic Type R or 2026 Integra Type S.
228 hp. 280 lb-ft. FWD. Dual-clutch only.
MINI’s JCW page puts a JCW-tuned 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder at 228 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, with a claimed 0–60 mph in 5.9 seconds. That is the top of the Cooper 2 Door gas stack on the same site. Power goes through that seven-speed Sport Dual-Clutch to the front wheels. JCW-specific suspension with Dynamic Damper Control, JCW Sport Brakes with red calipers, and the usual JCW exterior/interior cues round out the factory pitch. PressClub USA’s 2027 Cooper update keeps JCW 2 Door MSRPs at $38,900 / $41,300 / $43,300 for Signature / Signature Plus / Iconic before the $1,350 destination charge.
